Car Doesn't Start First Time

Make sure you got enough fuel pressure and good spark. Wait for 10 seconds first.

My car is a 2000 acura 3.2tl.

Car doesn't start first time. But, if i do that another time or two, it won't start. Make sure the battery is fully charged and will pass a load test. Here are a few tricks to try if the car doesn’t start:

For the car to start running correctly, you need a few ingredients: Sometimes it starts right up. When this happens, with each turn of the key, there is no click, no sputter, no turnover of any type.

I've gotten the battery replaced very recently (about 2 weeks ago) and that didn't help any. Make sure the battery cables are clean and tight. This has been an ongoing saga for over a year.

For the past four years, my car wouldn't start in cold weather, but jumping it would start it up right away. If the car clicks when trying to start, but still won’t start, this can be caused by a weak battery, dirty battery terminals, a worn starter motor or a stuck solenoid. No error codes, the only other problems i can think of is a non working cruise control which im also unsure of and what seems like standard bad vanos rattle.

Other times, more and more frequently, i sit in the hot florida sun turning the key repeatedly, often for over five solid minutes. If the engine does not crank, then you have a battery or starter concern. You can try to push start a manual car (won't work for an auto obviously).

If the lights dim in your car, (but not considerably) that probably means that your starter is getting power and the ignition works Discussion starter · #1 · nov 27, 2012. You might be able to hear the fuel pump engage and disengage if you listen closely.

Turn the key to the “on” position, but don’t start it. Also, a faulty sensor (crankshaft position sensor or camshaft sensor on some models or throttle position sensor) may cause this problem as well. Now, if i make a stop, say 15 minutes long, and get back in, it starts just fine.

Thus, your car won’t start, but the battery is good. If you suspect that the problem may be fuel related, there are a. If it seems to take a long time, i am willing to bet the battery is the issue.

Check if you have enough gas in your gas tank Sometimes when driving in very low temperatures, the fuel freezes in the fuel supply lines and doesn’t make it to the engine; The most common source of trouble when the engine cranks but won't start is the ignition or fuel system.

If an engine is cranking, but will not start, you know that your electrical is good. This is a precursor feature for the auto stop/start feature (at stoplights) more and more cars have now. On the other hand, if you hear a clicking sound, but still the engine doesn’t turn on, it means your battery is weak or there is.

Sometimes i have to turn the key a few times before it starts. Have had a weird issue for a while now where 80% of the time the car doesn't start first time, but it will always start second time. If nothing happens and the car doesn’t start, it could mean a dead battery, a broken starter or even a faulty ignition system.

If the engine cranks but will not start all the time, then you may have a fuel or ignition concern. The one issue i'm having with the car though is that when i try to start it in the morning (or after 5+ hours after the car was last driven), i'll need to step on the gas to get it to start. There are many causes of hard starting but illustrative ones are a faulty engine coolant temperature switch (sensor), malfunctioning idle air control (iac) valve, vacuum and egr leaks, inadequate fuel delivery or pressure (clogged fuel filter, injectors), and contaminated or.

In the past couple of months, the car would randomly not start the second time around even in warm weather. For example, i'd come out of the house and start it for the first time, which always worked, but then i would drive somewhere, turn the car off, and then try to start it a second. If you can hear it, wait for it to disengage before you start the engine.

You can try to recharge the battery, this works if all the battery water hasn't evaporated or if the battery. If the engine cranks, but the car won't start: Try jumpstarting the car when its not working (if it works, you can cross off the battery as a possible problem) also make sure battery cables/ground have good connection and arent corroded;

Spark, air, fuel, and compression. It always starts right away during any cold start aka the first start of the day.
